An SMP/SP zipper-style strip used to join the front and back panels of an LCD subassembly frame. Alternatively the frame edges could be pre-molded with this profile.
The component has a large surface area along its point of contact for maximum effectiveness, in terms of both holding strength and speed of deformation when Tx is reached.
This concept reduces the number of individual fasteners used, and if pre-molded, provides a non-metallic alternative to a standard LCD subassembly frame.
