This is a traditional fastening method which replaces the use of screws. the quarter turn fasteners can be removed manually much faster than traditional screws, as only a 90 degree twist is required to release them, rather than several turns.
Instead of being built with screw threads, however, the body of the assembly wpould have to be manufactured to accommodate these fasteners.
This includes 2 protrusions (inside the fastener cavity) which run along the spiralled grooves of the fastener as it is turned.
Manufacturing thses protrusions from SP would allow them to disappear at Tx, thus causing the fastener to fall out vertically with no rotation, resulting in a rapid automatic disassembly.
